A few numbers about me

As a CEO I’m responsible for all aspects of operating a Managed Service Provider (MSP) with a multi-million dollar annual revenue and 30+ employees. My major responsibilities are oversight of revenue, profitability, budgets and other critical KPIs. It also includes strategic partnerships and revenue stream generation, consulting for critical clients and supervision of their technology service delivery.  Oversight of Network Operations Center, Helpdesk Operations, Field Services and Finance. Mentorship and key employee development to augment and grow an all-star team.

Externally, I’ve been providing cyber-security consulting, audits, gap analysis and report writing in client engagements. Compliance and IT governance client consulting, policy creation and planning is another major area of my specialization and responsibilities.  This includes FTC Safeguards Rule, NIST 800-171, CMMC, NIST CSF, SOX and other frameworks.

In this role my main responsibilities were in team management and service delivery. This included streamlining  IT service delivery to support more clients with fewer resources, improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Played a key role in HR functions, including hiring, performance-based compensation restructuring and alignment with various regulations. Negotiated major contracts, technology purchases, and infrastructure investments to optimize operations and financial performance. Designed or assisted clients in designing redundant, scalable and low PRO/RTO solutions for their BC/DR goals. Provided them with written emergency response plans, IT policies and compliance SOPs. 

Planned and executed company growth plans that allowed it to double in size while maintaining the same excellent quality of service delivery, client satisfaction and reputation in San Diego life-science and business community.

Helped the company expand across multiple states to provide coast-to-coast coverage in order to position it for growth and more diverse geographic client base.  Was responsible for budgeting and procurement of systems and technology internally and for our clients.  Managed internal and client facing projects from concept to completion. Assisted private companies through IPOs, acquisitions, conservatorship and liquidations. Developed and formalized internal policies, special operating procedures and new workflows to professionalize and optimize operations.

Worked with clients on setting long term IT plans, budgets and internal IT policies. Oversaw Connetic’s dispatch and field services.  Hired, trained and mentored new talent. Performed server and network build-outs at client’s data-centers.  Acted as a member of IT emergency response team for client’s mission critical systems.  Designed and deployed networks for clients in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.  Supported SOX and FDA regulated environments with validated systems and change control.  Deployed highly available and redundant fiber-optic HP SAN systems for clustered servers. Worked with: HP LeftHand SAN, HP Proliant servers, HP Fiber and copper Ethernet switches, Dell EqualLogic SAN, Fiber/ethernet storage, NAS, Windows Server 2000, 2003/R2, 2008/R2, 2019; RedHat Enterprise, Debian, Gentoo, Apache, OS X server, Microsoft Exchange Server 2000, 2003, 2010, 2013, Veeam, Acronis Backup, Symantec BackupExec, VMware Workstation, ESX and ESXi, Sonicwall Firewalls, Dell PowerConnect switches, Cisco PIX/ASA/WLAN controllers, Ubiquiti and other software and hardware.

Launched and funded a successful sporting goods company centered on novel fishing gear products in a well established industry dominated by large mass producers. I have designed products and sourced them from small and large manufactuers in Japan, China and EU. I ran all aspects of the business including legal, financial, wearhousing, distribution and marketing. Products were sold across the United States via an online store I’ve built, Amazon, eBay and specialty websites. 

Co-founded an Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine clinic which was providing non-invasive healing modalities to those looking outside of the traditional medical care. As a partuner I was responsible for most of the non-medical apsects of the business, which included lease negotiations, tenant improvements, computer and surveilance system, data-safety, privacy and system security configurations.
